Nova Systems is a strong advocate of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) with several initiatives being implemented and managed across the organisation. From supporting employees who actively participate in the Defence Reserves, sponsoring of Academic Awards and work experience for University students, to direct support of charitable organisations such as Newpin and Krappers for Kokoda, all employees are encouraged to engage and support Nova CSR activities. Mo Grow and Shave for a Cure are annual targets for several offices to raise funds and awareness for worthy causes. Blood donation is also another active area for participation.
Nova’s CEO and General Manager lead from the front and support several organisations including the SA Ambulance Board, Time for Kids, Orana, Engineers Australia and the Defence Training Centre to name a few. Nova employees are further encouraged to participate through flexible working hours to meet the demands of volunteering and supporting such organisations.
Nova Systems is also implementing its own internal challenge to encourage wider participation and active contribution to the community. A CSR Challenge Cup is to be awarded on a 6 monthly basis to the Nova Office that, on a pro-rata basis, raises the most funds for a selected charity that Nova will support. Employees in each office raise funds and awareness through dedicated activities with the added flavour of building esprit de corps and teamwork in an effort to challenge their mates and come out on top. The selected charity then benefits from the added spice of competition.
