Nova Systems was requested to lead Military Type Certification of the PC-21 Aircraft, Qualification of PC-21 Simulators, and Test and Evaluation of the Pilot Training System, as well as provide further specialist engineering advice.
Solution
Nova Systems formed a specialist engineering team to support Lockheed Martin and developed a project plan to deliver the work scope on a fixed price basis, in line with the overarching Commonwealth project schedule. The team developed key supporting artefacts including a Type Certification Plan, Qualification Plan and Verification and Validation Plan. To execute these plans, Nova managed key stakeholders in both industry and the Commonwealth, and gathered a large range of compliance evidence to support the award of various relevant airworthiness and contractual instruments.
Outcome
The work delivered by Nova Systems resulted in the PC-21 Aircraft being awarded Military Type Certification, the PC-21 Simulators being qualified to use for training of ab-initio ADF Pilots, and the Pilot Training System achieving contractual Final Acceptance by the Commonwealth. All work was completed on time and on budget.
