Solution
NVR Map allows users to view a range of spatial datasets relating to Native Vegetation Regulations and generate Native Vegetation Removal Reports and Native Vegetation Offset Reports, which are key in applying for planning permits in Victoria.
NVR Map is designed to re-use components from the existing Melbourne Strategic Assessment (MSA) Mapshare web application.
Through an intuitive step by step design, users are guided to input data to allow NVR Map to generate a report via an interactive mapping interface.
NVR Map interrogates thousands of datasets, applies validation and business rules, and carries out calculations to produce a report on impacted vegetation and species habitats. Map editing and measurement tools allow the user to draw and edit polygons and points to define vegetation and/or revegetation areas/trees.
Outcome
NVR Map is built and deployed to DEECA’s MapShare platform hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). By utilising existing DEECA infrastructure, maintenance and support is streamlined, saving on infrastructure costs.
The project demonstrates Nova Systems ability to build an efficient, intuitive, and integrated map-based web application using modern tools and software development best practices.
