Nova Systems Partners with ISRO to Support India’s Historic Human Spaceflight Mission

17/04/26

Nova Systems is partnering with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to support the Gaganyaan Mission, India’s first human spaceflight program, which will see India become the fourth nation to independently send humans to space.

From its operations base on Cocos (Keeling) Islands (CKI), Nova Systems will provide project management, ground station engineering, and spectrum management expertise to enable ISRO’s Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network.

Nova Systems CEO Dean Rosenfield said the program represents a defining moment in India’s space journey and Nova Systems is well placed to contribute with decades long expertise in space telecommunications and assurance programs in Australia and around the world.

“Following the successful NASA Artemis II mission around the moon, the Gaganyaan Mission represents a defining moment in India’s space journey, and we are committed to contributing our expertise to help enable such a significant milestone,” Mr Rosenfield said.

“Our involvement demonstrates the strength of Australian capability and the value of international collaboration in advancing human spaceflight. Together with ISRO and our partners, we are helping to shape a bold and inspiring future in space.”

Working alongside Island Power Co, the region’s premier infrastructure project services provider on the CKI, Nova Systems will draw on our extensive project management experience to deliver resilient, mission‑critical support.

The Gaganyaan program includes three uncrewed missions, G1, G2 and G3 ahead of the crewed H1 mission planned for 2027.

Nova Systems work will span the full mission lifecycle, including site establishment, essential communications support, and post‑mission equipment demobilisation and site restoration at the CKI Q‑Station.

The collaboration reflects Nova Systems continued commitment to enabling complex missions in remote and challenging environments, and to supporting the ground infrastructure required for future space endeavours, including human spaceflight.

Nova Systems also acknowledges the support of Australian Remote Operations for Space and Earth (AROSE) in facilitating engagement with ISRO.
