The Nova Systems Integration Centre, located near Brisbane Airport, has been fitted for end-to-end design, assurance and production of mission systems equipment, supporting critical Defence and Emergency Services projects and operations.
The Centre features aircraft mock-ups enabling teams to conduct proof-of-concept testing for aeromedical equipment and mission system fit-outs.
The site also includes a systems integration lab where mission equipment and emerging technologies can be tested.
“Nova’s Systems Integration Centre is a significant advancement in our ability to deliver integrated, mission-ready solutions for our Defence, Government and Emergency Services partners,” Nova Systems CEO Dean Rosenfield said.
“Importantly, it complements our global operations, building collaboration across our international design and integration teams. Nova’s integration facilities in the United Kingdom are supporting the delivery of next-generation mission systems for a series of search and rescue and airborne law enforcement aircraft across Europe.”
In Australia, Nova Systems has recently been selected as the mission systems integrator of enhanced life-saving capabilities supporting StarFlight Australia to deliver vital helicopter emergency air services across Tasmania.
Nova is also working on the design and production of a next-generation patient loading system for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Queensland air fleet. The Stretcher Loader Device incorporates zero manual-lift technology and advanced automation resulting in safer and smoother patient transfers, as well as reduced risk of manual handling injuries.
Nova is working on the production and integration of contemporary Flight Test Instrumentation hardware and software to support flight test activities for the Royal Australian Navy.
Beyond its technical capabilities, the Centre will deliver economic benefits to Queensland, with capacity for future expansion, positioning Nova Systems as a key contributor to Queensland’s advanced manufacturing sector.
“Our mission is to keep people safe, and our systems integration work will provide world-class capabilities through new and emerging technology that will assist Defence, Government and emergency services to do their jobs more effectively,” Mr Rosenfield said.
