Nova Systems backs bid to establish Australian Air Mobility Cooperative Research Centre

08/12/25

Nova Systems has joined a coalition of leading industry, research, and government partners supporting the establishment of the Australian Air Mobility Cooperative Research Centre (AAM CRC) through the Australian Government’s CRC Grants Program.

If successful, the AAM CRC will be a national initiative focused on advancing sovereign capabilities in autonomous air mobility.

The proposed CRC aims to address key challenges in the sector, including regional connectivity, environmental sustainability, airspace integration, and public trust in emerging technologies.

Nova Systems was invited to join the CRC in recognition of its deep operational credentials in crewed and uncrewed aerospace systems, flight testing, and airworthiness certification.

With a broad Remote Operator Certificate (ReOC), Nova is uniquely positioned to support the regulatory and operational frameworks necessary for the safe deployment of AAM technologies in Australian airspace.

“Our involvement with the AAM CRC reflects Nova’s commitment to shaping the future of aerospace in Australia,” said Nova Systems CEO Dean Rosenfield.

“We’re excited to contribute our expertise to help solve real-world integration challenges and support the development of Australian capabilities.”

The proposed AAM CRC is a consortium of more than 50 organisations across industry, academia, and government. If awarded, the CRC will deliver a multi-year program of collaborative research and development to accelerate Australia’s leadership in next-generation air mobility.
