Airways required a formal report that presented the test findings and evidence of the efficacy of LTE.
Solution
Nova Systems supported Airways NZ in conducting UAS trials using ADS-B and cell networks for ‘Electronic Conspicuity’ (Command and Control and Situational Awareness) of UAS. Nova Systems worked with Airways NZ to determine their testing requirements and provided advice on conducting structured flight trials. Nova Systems delivered this during the planning phase of the programme to ensure that requirements from Airways, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and the UAS operators were captured and that the testing programme was robust, credible, and efficient. Nova Systems also provided an independent opinion of the trial and the results.
Outcome
Nova Systems provided the expertise and robustness required to ensure the Airways NZ report was credible and appropriate, resulting in the submission of a successful disposition to CAA. In addition, Nova Systems provided recommendations for further activities to Airways NZ for more advanced UAS operations at the conclusion of the trials.
