The Nova Systems team has helped to welcome the first Hawk jets which will operate as part of a joint Qatar - UK squadron. Our people have delivered a wide range of project and programme management services for the programme to date.
“Nova Systems are proud to support the Qatar Air Programmes Office and are delighted to see the arrival of the first two Qatar Emiri Air Force HAWK167 aircraft at RAF Leeming yesterday,”
said Gareth Dyer, Managing Director – International, Nova Systems.
“These new aircraft represent a significant milestone in the UK – Qatar defence relationship. The aircraft will be used to train Qatar Emiri Air Force and Royal Air Force fast jet pilots over the coming years in a Joint Hawk Training Squadron,” said Dyer.
Nova Systems has managed the delivery of the new infrastructure, designed training courses for Qatari students and helped achieve clearance for the aircraft to fly.
“We have worked closely with the Ministry of Defence, BAE Systems and their Qatari partners on what has been a fascinating, fast paced and very satisfying programme,” said Dyer. “This first landing gets the programme to Initial Operating Capability and we look forward to subsequent phases as we help grow this capability over the coming months.”
